Few phrases and sayings that annoy me at times, accompanied by a commentary of my thoughts voicing what I think when those phrases are said to me.

“The reality of the situation”—whose reality yours or mine? Who put you in charge to “objectively” tell me what the reality of the situation is? What if I don’t agree with your reality.

“It’s not rocket science” - how many people do you actually know who study rocket science? Oh,none? So whats your point? we know it is isn’t rocket science—but what? you assume everyone knows that rocket science is extremely hard so you thought comparing it to rocket science in your condescending tone of voice got the point across -_-
Too bad I skipped that rocket science class in HS..right.

“Between a rock and hard place” like aren’t they both hard, you couldn’t find anything else a little relatable to the situation to describe your dilemma?

“Close but no cigar” phuck yo cigar —but seriously, a cigar? I’m really hoping the origin of this meaning was actually significant, I’d look it up writing this straight off top of my head.

“I think it be best” like wait a minute, who asked you for your subjective point of view. And I bet you expect me to really take your suggestion on what you think it’s best. (9 out 10 what they think is best is polar opposite of what you think)

“That’s so mainstream”— what’s your point— so now its not cool? This saying is rarely ever said without a negative connotation to it. So who made it mainstream—let me guess, everybody BUT you and your friends. Aren’t you original -_-
